Why the V90 is the Professional’s Choice:
-
Military-Grade Engineering: Built with a durable metal housing and advanced German chipsets to filter out "clutter" signals and zero in on real threats.
-
Separate Camera Lens Finder Included: Unlike other models, the V90 includes a dedicated camera lens finder in the box. This specialized optical tool allows you to visually pinpoint the reflection of any hidden camera lens, even if the camera is turned off.
-
Comprehensive Frequency Coverage: Scans a massive range from 50 MHz to 12 GHz, covering everything from older analog bugs to modern 5G trackers and Wi-Max signals.
-
Magnetic Tracker Detection: Includes a specialized magnetic probe to find GPS trackers hidden under vehicle frames or inside hard-to-reach areas where magnets are used for attachment.
-
Vibration "SOS" Security Mode: Use it as a portable alarm. Set the sensitivity and place it on your luggage or a hotel door handle; if moved, the device triggers an immediate alarm. It features an ultra-low-power standby that lasts up to 6 months.
Key Features
-
Detects All Major Transmissions: 2G/3G/4G/5G, GSM, Wi-Fi (2.4 & 5.8GHz), Bluetooth, DECT, and RF.
-
17-Level Precision Indicator: A multi-colored LED scale (Green/Yellow/Red) allows you to accurately measure the distance to a bugging device.
-
Smart Battery Monitoring: Quick-check your power level with a simple button press.
-
Adjustable Sensitivity: Use the physical knob to tune out background interference and isolate specific signals in crowded environments.

Spy Hunter V90 FAQ:
Getting Started
What exactly does the V90 detect? The V90 detects active radio transmissions across a 50 MHz to 12 GHz range. That covers 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G cellular, GSM, Wi-Fi on both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, Bluetooth, DECT cordless phone signals, and general RF. In plain terms, it finds transmitting bugs, Wi-Fi spy cameras, Bluetooth audio bugs, and GPS trackers while they are sending data.
Is this a beginner device or a professional tool? Both, honestly. It was engineered for security specialists and engineers, with a metal housing and German military-grade chipsets, but the 17-level LED indicator makes it readable for anyone. That said, a detector is only as good as the person sweeping with it, so we include a free tutorial video and you can always call us for hints.
What comes in the box? The V90 unit itself, a high-gain RF antenna, a magnetic detection probe, a separate optical camera lens finder, a Type-C charging cable, and a 1-year Spy Geeks warranty.
Do I need a subscription, app, or software? No. The V90 is a completely standalone device. Nothing to install, no account, no monthly fee, and nothing about your sweep leaves the device.
Finding Hidden Cameras
How does the camera lens finder work? The lens finder is a separate optical tool, not part of the RF scanner. You look through it while scanning a room and a hidden camera lens will reflect back as a bright point of light. This is the piece most competing detectors leave out of the box.
Will it find a camera that is turned off? Yes, with the lens finder. A powered-off camera transmits nothing, so RF scanning cannot see it, but the glass lens still reflects. This is exactly why we consider the included lens finder the most important accessory in the kit.
Can it find Wi-Fi cameras hidden in smoke detectors, clocks, or chargers? Yes. Any camera actively streaming over Wi-Fi is emitting a signal in the 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz bands, both of which the V90 covers. Sweep slowly and watch for the LED scale to climb as you approach the source.
How do I sweep a hotel room or Airbnb? Unplug or power down your own devices first, then work the room in sections with the RF antenna, paying attention to anything with a clear view of the bed or bathroom door. Follow that with a lens finder pass across TVs, clocks, outlets, smoke detectors, vents, and decor. Then set the V90 to vibration SOS mode on the door handle before you sleep.
Finding GPS Trackers
Can the V90 find a GPS tracker on my vehicle? Yes, but how you sweep matters far more than the device. Most modern trackers contain motion sensors and go silent while the vehicle is parked, and many only transmit every two minutes or less to save battery. A rolling sweep with the vehicle in motion is the only reliable electronic method.
What is the magnetic probe for? Most covert vehicle trackers are housed in small magnetic cases so they can be slapped onto a frame rail or wheel well and retrieved later. The magnetic probe finds that magnet directly, whether or not the device is currently transmitting. It is the fastest way to check the underside of a vehicle.
Will it find a passive GPS tracker that does not transmit? Not by RF, because a passive logger stores data internally and never sends a signal. Use the magnetic probe and a hands-on physical inspection instead, especially under the dash, around the OBD port, and anywhere held by tape or Velcro.
What is the best way to run a vehicle sweep? Drive out to a quiet road away from houses and other vehicles so you are not reading their signals. Put your phones in airplane mode. Sweep while the vehicle is moving so any motion-activated tracker wakes up and transmits. Then park and follow with the magnetic probe and a flashlight inspection.
If I find a tracker, what do I do? Do not touch it. Put on gloves, photograph it in place, and call the police or a trusted private investigator so prints can be pulled. We can refer you to a licensed investigator through our partner network.
Using the Device
What do the LED lights mean? The 17-level multi-colored scale reads green through yellow to red. Green means little or nothing. As you get closer to a transmitting source, the scale climbs. Red at close range is your signal to slow down and start looking with your eyes and hands.
How do I keep it from alerting on everything in my house? Use the physical sensitivity knob. Start low in a signal-heavy environment to cut through the clutter, then raise sensitivity once you have isolated an area. Powering down your own routers, phones, tablets, and smart devices before a sweep makes a dramatic difference.
Can I sweep quietly without anyone hearing it? Yes. The V90 runs in silent vibration mode, audio buzzer mode, or LED-only alert. For discreet sweeps, vibration and LED alone are the way to go.
What is the vibration SOS security mode? It turns the V90 into a portable motion alarm. Set your sensitivity and place it on a suitcase, a hotel room door handle, a drawer, or a gun case. If it is moved, it alarms immediately. Standby draws so little power that it can sit armed for up to six months.
How long does the battery last and how do I charge it? About 20 hours of active scanning, or up to 6 months in vibration standby. It fast-charges over Type-C in roughly 4 hours.
Buying, Warranty & Legal
What does the V90 cost? $168.00, marked down from $199.95.
What is the warranty? One year through Spy Geeks. If it fails within the warranty period we repair or replace it. As with all our products, all sales are final and we do not issue cash or charge refunds. Keep your receipt for any claim.
Is it legal to own and use a bug detector? Yes. Detecting surveillance devices on your own property, in your own vehicle, or in a space you are lawfully occupying is legal. Finding a device is very different from planting one, and the V90 is purely a defensive tool.
Can you train me on how to use it? Yes. There is a free tutorial video linked right on the product page, and we offer in-store training on scanning your home, vehicle, or business for GPS trackers, listening devices, and hidden cameras.
What if I sweep and find nothing but still feel like something is wrong? Call us at 407-877-3500. Sometimes it is a technique issue we can coach you through in a few minutes, and sometimes it warrants a professional sweep. We can refer you to a licensed private investigator through our partner network if it comes to that.
Do you ship this nationwide? Yes, typically via UPS Ground or USPS. A signature is required on delivery unless you contact us in advance to waive it. Local Metro Orlando delivery and pickup are available, but call first at 407-877-3500 to confirm stock.
