I. "How can I listen to my spouses cell phone calls?"
First of all IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL THIS EQUIPMENT TO THE PUBLIC.
As you'll see from the article and link below; this equipment is restricted to Law Enforcement Agencies only. And even if you had the qualifications to purchase said equipment. It cost about $75 grand. So now that rules most of us out.

We also hear about a few websites offering to record cell phones by purchasing a download link through an email for only $99. Funny how these companies won't provide a phone number for customers to call or an address.
This should be your red flag to a scam. If it's too good to be true....

For those of us who are stubborn and still need a way to record our own cell phone calls.
We carry an Earphone/Microphone device for $19.95 that allows you to record your own calls with a Digital Recorder that has a mic jack.
This method is not discreet since you'll see the cord coming from your ear that plugs into the recorder. However the person you're talking to will not know of the recording going on.
(Please abide by your local state laws in regards to recording others without their consent.)
We also carry SIM Card readers for cell phones that can read all the data stored on the SIM, like calls sent and received and even deleted text messages. However these only work on phones that still use a SIM Card.

The point of all this IS that there are no easy or legal ways to monitor cell phones.
So please tell every one you know and that means less people I have to tell every day.
Some of you may have heard that you can hear cell phone conversations on a Police Scanner. This was true, back in the 90's when cell phones were analog.
But these days ALL cell phones are digital. Which means even if your scanner stops on the right frequency, you won't hear anything.
Even when cell phones were analog it was no easy task to monitor a certain individual. It took a frequency counter and an expensive police scanner with knowledge of all the cell phone tower conversions, not to mention the five mile limited range from the towers and only one mile range from the phone. You basically had to follow the person with a surveillance van full of equipment.
These days it is easier for Federal Agencies to monitor calls but it takes a court order and the equipment mentioned above which can listen to digital cell phones from anywhere in the world.
Yes, we can get this equipment after you prove that you are a Law Enforcement Agency and have a court order to monitor a given cell phone and of course have $75 grand to purchase this high-tech gear. So if you are Not any of this, please save us and yourself time and give up trying to listen to other peoples cell phones.

II. "How can I get a Bug to monitor my spouse?"
First, IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO SELL THIS EQUIPMENT TO THE PUBLIC.
The honest truth on Listening Devices..commonly known as "Bugs"
There are many different types. So we'll start with the poor man's bugs. Meaning any cheap piece of electronics which consist of a transmitter and receiver.
Like a Baby Monitor. Or the much better villian...a pair of standard walkie talkies or handheld radios. These are bought at any electronics store and have decent range, if you plan on staying a block away from your subject. Perhaps under the shadow of a tree in Line of Sight with a trusty pair of Binoculars.
The way a standard pair of handheld radios is used as a bug is that on the transmitting side, a rubber band with folded cardboard is wrapped tightly around the PTT Push-to-talk button, pressing it down; and the device is placed in a nearby area to the subject, thereby sending all the audio in that room to the other handheld radio at the listening post down the street. Where it could be stashed away in a cooler hooked to a voice activated recorder with lithium batteries; unmanned.
This is the easiest method of placing the poor man's bug. Which I might add is still illegal to invade the privacy of others no matter which way or device you create to achieve this. My information included here is purely common knowledge shared through years of training and watching spy movies.
The next easiest way to constuct the poor man's bug is your common prepaid cell phone. It should be paid for with cash and a fake name given. What is needed is the feature called "Auto Answer" this is important; and many phones have this feature but might not be the first one you pick up. So it is suggested to buy your prepaid phone at a real Cell Phone Place that has models on display. The way the cell phone is used as a bug is that you go into the menu or features and turn on auto answer(if it asks for one ring or two. select one) then turn the ringer and vibrate all the way off. Then place the cell phone face down so the lights that come on when it rings are blocked from view.
Then you can call that cell phone blocking your number with *67 from any other phone and listen into the area where the device has been placed. It didn't ring or vibrate and after one ring you can start monitoring for as long as the battery lasts. You can even record what you hear. Plus you have unlimited range all over the world. If someone ever finds it; well that's why I said to pay cash for it and leave a fake name and block your number with *67 when calling it. All the subject can do is wonder who was ever in their car or home/business to place it. It's my advice to hire a ninja to hide your cell phone bug in the shadows,
and ninjas always wear gloves to sheild their fingerprints.
So there you have the two most common ways to make listening devices with limited range and unlimited range.
Since most of us have day jobs and not much time to sit at a listening post. There are digital voice recorders that come on with sound that can be played back later and copied to computer which is a much better way to do audio surveillance. But we're still talking about bugs here.
Now i'll talk about the bugging devices that are on the black market, and usually seized when someone tries to order them from websites overseas. These are the best bugs out there with superior audio quality and long range, usually disguised in every day household items. But really only available to law enforcement by mail. Or by visiting a Spy Shop in the U.K. and buying one and hoping that customs doesn't find it in your luggage. The Spy Stores overseas will sell these hidden bugs to the general public but they are illegal to sell or own in the U.S. unless you're law enforcement.
The Only device you can buy at one of our stores to monitor audio with very limited range is a Wireless Camcorder Microphone & Receiver. It will transmit about 200 ft. Which can also be used with our Dictation Pen Microphone to greaty amplify the sound. Replacing the low impedence mic that comes in the box. We do not sell these items as bugs.
